My work explores gender inequality in Chinese marriage traditions and how modern women can break free from these constraints. Through my art, I dig deep into the thousands of years of feudal Chinese society, where marriage was built on the idea of male superiority. I highlight how major schools of thought, such as Confucianism and traditional ethics, have historically taught values like filial piety, loyalty, modesty, and altruism, all while requiring women to conform to male-dominated ideals. In my parents' generation, marriage in China was more of an obligation than a choice. Most marriages were arranged by elders and decided by parents, who prioritized family interests over individual happiness. Many people got married simply because it was expected, leading to marriages that carried burdens they were never meant to bear.

In today’s society, I believe that women can live fulfilling lives without being bound by traditional family expectations. With the development of society and the emancipation of women, their status has improved significantly. More women are finding their own paths beyond traditional Chinese concepts, and my work reflects this shift in thinking and the rise of women’s independence.

One of the biggest challenges I face in my creative process is finding the right way to express my ideas. I believe that the simplest and most direct methods, like illustrations, posters, or animation, are highly effective for communication. I’m also fascinated by traditional Chinese painting techniques, such as ink painting, which I believe is the best way to represent China in my work.
